As a special class of functional polymer, conjugated polymers are widely used in batteries, conductive materials, sensors, light-emitting materials and so on with their excellent optical and electrical properties. Purpose of this paper is to synthesize a series of conjugated polymers and to study the properties of these compounds.The compounds disigned in the thesis preserved thiophene skeleton. 3-hydroxyethylaminomethylthiophene and 3-butylaminomethylthiophene were synthesized by using 3– thiophenecarboxaldehyde as the basic raw materials and characterized by IR and H 1~NMR. The results showed that the product yield in the reaction at refluxing was higher than at room temperature. And the molar ratio of 3– thiophenecarboxaldehyde, ethanolamine (or n-butylamine), reducing agent sodium borohydride was 1:1:4. And cross-linked agent was synthesized by using phthalaldehyde ,thiophene as raw materials, boron trifluoride diethyl ether solution as the catalyst, and characterized by IR, H1~NMR.In the paper, 4,4 '- diaminoazobenzene, 2 - methyl– 4,4'- diaminoazobenzene and 2 - hydroxy - 4,4 '- diaminoazobenzene were disigned and synthesized, and characterized by UV-Vis, IR, H 1~NMR.Three polyschiff-bases with azo unit were designed and synthesized by using phthalaldehyde, 4,4 '- diaminoazobenzene, 2– methyl - 4,4'- diaminoazobenzene, 2 - hydroxy -4,4 '- diaminoazobenzene as base materials in this paper, and characterized by UV-vis absorption spectra, IR. The result showed that these compounds did not have fluorescence . The relation of azo unit and band gap was discussed. Because of intrduction of azo unit, the band gap was reduced.In the paper, nine derivatives of polythiophene were synthesized by chemical oxidation polymerization method, using anhydrous ferric chloride as oxidant and 3-hydroxyethylaminomethylthiophene,3-butylaminomethylaminothiophene,thiophene, 3-methylthiophene as monomers. Two cross-linked compounds were synthesized by 3-methylthiophene,3-hydroxyethylaminomethylthiophene,3-butylaminomethylthiophene, and cross-linked agent as monomers. And UV-vis absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra, scanning electron micrographs of eleven compounds were determined.
