With the improvement of living standard, hypoglycemic foods, sugar-free foods and low-sugar foods are gradually coming out in market. Therefore, simultaneous determination of sugar alcohols and sugars has important applications on supporting the formulation of related regulations and supervising market. The purpose of this paper is to found simultaneous determination of sugar alcohols and sugar by ion chromatography, and to make sure the method is simple, effective and rapid.Accomplished qualitative and quantitative research of erythritol, xylitol, sorbitol, mannitol, sorbitol, maltitol, glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose that have a wider commercial application by ion chromatography. validated the method through a variety of different matrices. The main content is as follows:1,Optimized the simultaneous determination method of 10 kinds of sugar alcohols and sugars by ion chromatography: DIONEX Carbopac MA1 anion column (4mm×250 mm) and DIONEX Carbopac MA1 anion guard column (4mm×50 mm) are used; mobile phase was 500 mmol/L sodium hydroxide, gradient flow rate was 0 ~ 7.5min, 0.5ml/min; 7.5 ~ 7.6min, 0.5 ~ 0.3ml/min; 7.6 ~ 32.0min, 0.3ml/min; 32.0 ~ 32.1 min, 0.3 ~ 0.5ml/min; 32.1 ~ 50min, 0.5ml/min; 32.5℃for the most appropriate column temperature. The the detection limits of sugar alcohols and sugars are 4.62 ~ 100.05μg/L; the linear range of sugar alcohols and sugars all cross three orders of magnitude; RSD of precision, stability, reproducibility test were all less than 5%.2,Process before detection for sample was determined: commercial samples were dissolved in water first, extracted by ultrasound instrument,time is 40min; then centrifuged 10min under 8000r/min. filtrated the supernatant through 0.22 ?m membrane filte and OnGuard RP column, discarded the former 6mL filtrate, then collected 1.5mL for detection with ion chromatography.3,Beverages, eight-treasure porridge, gum candy, cookies, polenta, honey, oatmeal, sugar-free candy and jelly from market were detected, recovery rates are 85% ~110%. The operation of sample detection is simple,convenient and friendly to environment.
