The study of silica hollow microspheres is based on hollow microspheres excellent performance. It is a new kind of particle materials and diameter from nanometer to micron, which has many characteristics such as low density, high specific surface, good stability, chemical composition and controllable, etc. As a size of internal hollow structure, makes it unique mechanical, optical, electrical, thermal, acoustics performance. Poly-aniline is widely used as one of the conductive polymers, it is advantages of convenient synthesis, high conductivity and strong chemical activity, but its molecular chain broken easily in the process of electro-chemical reactions because of its unique benzene-chinone type rigid structure. These are result in the electrical property is decrease and mechanical processing performance poorly. This paper describes preparation of silica hollow microspheres by the chemical method - inverse micro emulsion method. First, the preparation of silica precursor solution, and then by using precursor formed oil-in-water"the little pool"as the reaction places in inverse emulsion, silica precursor reacts condensation polymerization on the surface of liquid droplets template solidified into shell by catalysts. In inverse micro-emulsion system, we use single emulsifier and assistant emulsifier, through the control of water temperature, pH, the scale of water precursor and oil phase medium, and adopt ultrasonic agitation successfully prepared a narrow size distribution of silica hollow microspheres. At last, the influence factors of preparation process and the research and analysis for final product by phase contrast microscope, SEM, infrared, DTG and XRD characterization test.In the experiment we make silica hollow microspheres as substrate materials, through aniline occurs in situ polymerization on the surface of silica microspheres and form coated poly-aniline shell. At last we get polyaniline - silica hollow microspheres composite materials. This new composite materials combines characters of the inorganic materials and organic materials, which has the advantages of silica hollow microspheres low density, high intensity, good fluidity, wear resistance and physical-chemical stability, etc, but also enhances the electrochemical activity and greatly improves electrical performance of poly-aniline composite materials. It expected to be widely used in the exploitation and utilization for secondary batteries, electro-rheological fluids, super-capacitor, microelectronics devices electrode, and further expands a wide fields of application for conductive materials, wave-absorbing materials, catalyst and so on.
