Particle Impact Drilling Technology (PID for short) is a new drilling technology that can obviously improve the speed of deep drilling in hard formation. U.S. PDTI (Particle Drilling Technology Inc.) has conducted essential research and field application tests.According to on-site application, wear of the bit nozzle is serious, wear of the bit nozzle and the nozzle optimized design also need to be improved. In this paper, theoretical analysis and laboratory testing are combined to study the rules on wear of the nozzle, in order to provide theoretical basis for the nozzle structure optimization design, so as to improve the efficiency of rock broken of the nozzle, extend the life of the nozzle, this paper mainly complete the following aspects of work.By carrying out the analysis of the particle impact drilling of bit, the article summary the law of the material erosion, obtain the factors that affect wear of the nozzle(the structural parameters of the nozzle, materials of the nozzle, pressure of the jet, the characteristics of particles and so on); carrying out the nozzle wear experiment, obtain the wear parameters of the four kinds of nozzles; analysis the rock breaking mechanism of particle impact drilling, combine the circumstances of wear of the nozzle and the experiment, optimize the nozzle structure and design the bit.
