In drilling engineering, measurement while drilling (MWD) system can be used to measure weight on bit (WOB),torque and other engineering parameters near drill bit in real time, which can improve the operation efficiency of drill bit as well as avoiding drilling accidents effectively, so that to achieve safe and effective drilling. MWD measurement cell needs to be calibrated before applied to the field. Calibration is the process during which downhole instruments are tested on a known numerical value calibration facility and this process ensures the accuracy of the measurement cell, so it has very important significance.A calibration facility of the MWD measurement cell is designed in this thesis, which can be used to calibrate and correct the MWD measurement cell regularly. Hardware system of the calibration facility is introduced in the thesis, including hydraulic and mechanical system, measurement and control hardware system. The hydraulic and mechanical system consists of fixed clamp, mobile clamp, drilling pressure cylinder, quick spin buckle device, etc, while the measurement and control hardware system contains computer module, control module, collection module, etc.Based on virtual instrument technology, the software system of the calibration facility is designed. Requirements and overall design scheme of the software are introduced and then the software functions are described. Parameters setting and reading module, main program module and so on are all designed respectively through the application of modular design techniques.This thesis is also focus on the calibration method for MWD measurement cell, which includes the facility classification and the corresponding calibrating process, single and combined calibrating methods, and decoupling methods. Then the calibration system is debugged; and after this stage, the facility runs stably and each module works reliably, which displays that the facility basically meets the design requirements.
