Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (D-InSAR) is a microwave remote sensing technology which has developed in 1990s. It has all-weather, all-covering a broad area with a high degree of automation and high-precision monitoring ground deformation capacity. It has become a new great potential technology for earth observation.According to the principle of differential interferometry, using D-InSAR technology to monitor mine subsidence, it can get tiny deformation and its accuracy can reach cm-level even mm-level in theory. However, the measuring accuracy of D-InSAR is serious affected by temporal decorrelation, atmospheric change and other factors. Especially, in the west mine which has larger terrain ups-downs, and mining subsidence has characteristics such as smaller range, bigger subsidence and faster speed, all these affect the application of the technology in the subsidence monitoring. Therefore, it has important theoretical and practical significance on experimental researching of this subject. This paper Choose the BinChang mine as the research area, using D-InSAR technology to achieve the dynamic monitoring of the mining surface subsidence. The main contents and results in this paper as bellow:(1) Emphasizing on the features of the western mining subsidence and the requirements of the monitoring technique, compared with conventional techniques to mine subsidence monitor, this paper summarized the advantages of the D-InSAR.(2) Based on the basic principle and the process of D-InSAR, this paper discussed the sensibility of the deformation measurement and the surface deformation error sources. Procedures of the D-InSAR data processing and the key arithmetic are emphatically analyzed.(3) From 2007-07-04 to 2007-10-04, it selected three SAR images which maked up three schemes for differential interference processing respectively. It got the distribution of the deformation areas, and obtained consistent results through contacted with the conventional monitoring data. (4) According to analyzing the coherence map which was generated in the processing of D-InSAR, showed that the coherence map was an important approach to distinguish the deformation areas. Therefore, the research of the coherence map is a new direction in the application of D-InSAR technology. In this paper, through the subsidence monitoring research of the BinChang mine, initially established a suitable D-InSAR processing for mine areas. It laid the foundation for the remote sensing monitoring in the western wide-range mining areas.
