Heavy Scraper conveyor is a coal mine transportation equipment, Sprocket wheel is an important drive components. sprocket wheel chain socket and round-link chain in the process of meshing endure alternating enormous impact load and additional load, in view of this,Aiming at the question of premature invalidation of sprocket wheel of my company that resulted in frequent bad abrasion in the process of being used, analyze this causation, and adopt two improved project, firstly, change the material of sprocket wheel being made from the steel of 35CrMo and 42CrMo to the steel of 40CrNiMoA, This three kinds of material have similar mechanical and technical capability, owing to together belong to alloy steel. under the circumstances of unchanging mechanical machining and heat treatment processes. By mensuring the chemistry component and rigidity grads of sprocket wheel made from three kinds of material by dissection way. As a result,we compared the steel of 40CrNiMoA with the steel of 35CrMo and 42CrMo, the steel of 40CrNiMoA still has a kind of alloy element of Ni. This element of Ni can improve quenching capability of material. And new material also can ensure the quenching rigidity of sprocket wheel's tooth-face to attain HRC48-58. It shows that the new material can enhance the wearable capability of sprocket wheel thereby enhance using life-span of sprocket wheel.In addition.Aiming at the pivotal part-chain socket,which affects the meshing capability and transmission efficiency of sprocket wheel and round-link chain.The text analyzed the reasons which affect the machining precision , on this condition,designed the indexable cemented carbide molding milling cutter instead of primary molding milling cutter of high-speed steel. Which is used in the machining of sprocket wheel and the text introduced the structure and machining ability of this molding milling cutter.and designed logical machining route,machining programme and measuring implement,by machining repeatly and validating, finally made certain logical machining parameter. Practice proved that this design of molding cutter of cemented carbide is reasonable. The quality of machining is stable and credible, machining rigidity is high, Installing and maintenance are convenient, At the same time,the machining technique of sprocket wheel chain socket is logical and feasible, machining performance is very good, economic benefit is obvious, having the certain expansion value.In conclusion,by means of industry applications experiment validating, sprocket wheel manufactured by two manufacturing technics scheme improve greatly wearable capability of itself, farther enhance the using life-span of sprocket wheel, and make it reach international advanced level, this production is well admired by consumer, it fully show that this question of studying is right and feasible.
