Conductive polymers have potential applications in the preparation of conductive fabrics, smart textiles, electromagnetic shielding clothing, etc. The polypyrrole (PPy) was nontoxic, easy synthesis, good stability, high electrical conductivity, has been widely concerned. However, compared with the metal, its conductivity was still much lower. And metal nano-particles have excellent electrochemical and optical properties. To broaden the application performance and improve the electric conductivity of the conductive polymer, conductive polymer composite materials caused people’s research, conductive polymer/metal (silver, copper, titanium, etc.) composite materials applied functional finishing of textiles were more favored. In addition, the PPy is a black material, and its composite fabric has only one color, which limits its application, The metal can endow the composite fabric with the metal color and luster, thereby enrich the color variety of composite fabrics. In this paper, the metal particles were deposited on the pre-PPy polyester fabric by magnetron sputtering and electroless plating, to prepare composite conductive fabric of the PPy/metal (silver, copper), and composite conductive fabric properties were tested and characterized. The main research work is as follows:Firstly, Polypyrrole composite polyester fabric was prepared by in situ oxidation polymerization, The effects of the pyrrole concentration, ferric chloride concentration, the dopant concentration, the polymerization reaction time, and reaction temperature on conductive properties of polypyrrole composite fabric were investigated. And orthogonal experiment was designed to optimize the process conditions of the preparation of polypyrrole polyester fabric:the concentration of pyrrole and ferric chloride concentration were 0.8 mol/L and 0.4 mol/L, dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid sodium concentration was 0.06 mol/L, an oxidation reaction time of 3h in an ice-water bath.Secondly, the copper particles were deposited on the surface of pre-PPy fabric by magnetron sputtering. Plating process for the sputtering power 150w, working pressure 0.2Pa, sputtering different times,With the extension of the plating copper time, the electrical conductivity of the fabric is better.Copper plating on the surface of the pre-PPy fabric better crystallinity, nano metal particles distribution more uniform and dense,has better metallic luster, better water repellent property and anti ultraviolet property than that of the direct plating on polyester fabric.Lastly,The chemical silver plating on polyester fabric was studied. When the silver plating processes were silver nitrate concentration 12g/L, glucose concentration 10g/L, ethanol concentration 60g/L, reaction time 30min, reaction temperature 30, the surface resistance of electroless silver plating fabric was 0.26Ω/cm,and its conductive property was good. The silver particles were deposed on the surface of pre-PPy fabric by two methods of chemical and magnetron sputtering to prepare polypyrrole/Ag composite fabric.Through the microscopic analysis, the silver particle deposed by two kinds of silver plating method is different.the adhesion of fabric and metal deposited by magnetron sputtering method is better. Electroless silver plating on the PPy/polyester fabric, compared with the silver direct plating on the polyester fabric, the weight gain rate and the conductivity of the film decreased. The surface resistance can be reduced effectively by magnetron sputtering silver on the surface of the fabric, and the distribution of silver particles is better than that of direct silver plating on the fabric.
