In this paper, the N/S co-doped carbon materials were prepared by solid phase reaction and hydrothermal method. SEM(scanning electron microscope), XRD(X-ray diffraction spectroscopy), XPS(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) and FT-IR(Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) were used to characterize the structure, morphology, specific surface area of prepared N/S co-doped carbon materials. The effects of different methods,additives and the amount of additives on prepared materials’ properties were studied.First, when β-cyclodextrin was used as carbon source and methylene blue was used as additive,we prepared N/S co-doped carbon materials by solid phase reaction. The structures and morphology of as-prepared materials were studied by XRD and SEM. The results indicated that prepared N/S co-doped carbon materials are graphitization, and had microporous structure on it; XPS analysis gave the evidence that both N and S had been doped into carbon materials. Adsorption experiments of prepared materials indicated that CI-1(methylene blue content is 1%) had better adsorption property.Second, N/S co-doped carbon materials were prepared by hydrothermal method with β- cyclodextrin, and methylene blue was still used as additive. The structures and morphology of as-prepared materials were studied by XRD and SEM. The results indicated that prepared N/S co-doped carbon materials had the bulk morphology and were highly graphitization; XPS analysis gave the evidence that both N and S had been doped into carbon materials. BET analysis, adsorption experiments tests of prepared materials were also applied to characterize our materials. The results indicated that the sample of C3-c(methylene blue content is 10%, hydrothermal temperature is 130℃) has larger BET specific surface area, and better adsorption performance. At the same time, β-cyclodextrin can be carbonized to sphere-like carbon when the hydrothermal temperature is 180℃.Third, methyl orange instead of methylene blue was used as additive and N/S co-doped carbon materials were prepared by hydrothermal method. The structures and morphology of as-prepared materials were also studied by XRD and SEM. The results indicated that prepared N/S co-doped carbon materials had the similar bulk morphology and were highly graphitization. β-cyclodextrin still can be carbonized to sphere-like carbon directly when the hydrothermal temperature is high. The Results of adsorption experiments tests showed that the sample of MC6-b(methyl orange content is 5%, hydrothermal temperature is 160℃) had better adsorption performance.
