Costume designing is along with the history of human civilization, with its functions developing from sole purpose of resisting cold and protecting body to demonstrating cultural variety. With the clashes of different classes of art, costume culture has developed from low level of practical use to high level of aestheticism and social and cultural valuesIn this essay, costume model and the three-dimensional effect of fabric will be analyzed by both aesthetic features of reliefs and method of semi-three-dimension composition. Fabric can demonstrate strong three-dimensional and decoration effect after transformation. By adopting soft gauze fabric, which differs greatly form sculpture materials, one can make relief fabric with strong three-dimensional effect. In this way, artistic appeal from costume can be demonstrated in terms of both modeling and decorating so as to transcend traditional two-dimensional design and to add aesthetic value and researchability. With analysis of semi-three-dimensional composition method and designer’s work, combining fabric transformation method, further research will be conducted.
