Nickel is a ferromagnetic metal with good magnetic. It has good ductility, high melting point, high mechanical strength, stable chemical properties, oxidation resistivity, nickel plating catalyst, battery and other industrial fields.Twentieth Century, China’s nickel consumption demand is low, the growth rate is limited. After entering the twenty-first Century, with the use of a large number of stainless steel, nickel consumption has also increased at high speed. In 2013,89% nickel rely on imports, per-capita consumption of 2.4 times the global average, but the United States, Japan and other developed countries, there are some gaps, China’s nickel demand there is room for growth. Predicted that by 2020, China will consume 1 million 100 thousand T nickel, up to 90-100 million T gap. Only the nickel sulfide ore, nickel oxide ore can be used at this stage 60% nickel from nickel sulfide, nickel sulfide ore mining time, the gradual depletion of resources. Nickel oxide is divided into garnierite, laterite, the current development is mainly laterite. Help to alleviate the consumption gap improve processing efficiency of nickel laterite ore.The conventional processing methods of nickel laterite are acid leaching, roasting-water leaching, roasting-acid leaching, roasting-ammonia leaching. We can according to the actual of laterite nickel ore, explorating new mineral processing. Based on magnetic separation-acid leaching processing, we can try to find a kind of economic, convenient, easy to extract nickel method, meanwhile make full use of iron, magnesium in laterite nickel ore.Based on the actual of laterite nickel ore, iron concentrate was separated by magnetic, tailings of magnetic separation for acid leaching, Leaching solution containing nickel, iron and magnesium, Removaling of iron from leaching solution, nickel hydroxide chemical concentrate was precipitated, and then emovaling of magnesium from lsolution, magnesium hydroxide was got.Iron concentrate containing nickel 1.32%, iron grade rate is 64.78% and iron recovery rate is 63.46%; nickel hydroxide chemical concentrate containing nickel 10.58%, comprehensive recovery of nickel rate was 90.39;Magnesium Oxide in hydroxide magnesium is 64.41%, the recovery of magnesium was 47.81%.
