O-phenylphenol is an important fine chemical products. It was widely used in the areas of the preservation and sterilization of food, the synthesis of auxiliaries, thermally stable material and novel flame retardant. Firstly, the way of synthesis of O-phenylphenol was mostly focused on selective catalytic dehydrogenation of cyclohexanone dimer. In this process, the final yield can reach 90% with Pt, Pd catalysts. and the catalysts using cheap metals as the active component have some drawbacks. O-phenylphenol can also prepared by the catalytic hydrogenation of dibenzofuran. Dibenzofuran were the most component of bio-oils and unconventional energy, such as coal tar, shale oil. Pt, Pd catalysts were mostly used in this technology. Reports about this reaction using catalysts prepared by cheap metal were rarely found. Based on these two directions, we prepared some catalysts with SiO2, γ-Al2O3 as carrier, single metal Cu, Ni and different molar ratios of Cu-Ni bimetal as active ingredient, K2SO4, KOH as additives. The catalysts were characterized by the means of XRD, H2-TPR, NH3-TPD. Cyclohexanone dimer and dibenzofurans were used as reaction raw materials. Different catalysts were investigated in a fixed bed. The influence of different of catalysts and different reaction conditions on the reactant conversion and product selectivity were studied.Cyclohexanone dimer were used as raw materials. Various types of catalysts prepared by impregnation method. The results showed that the optimal catalyst was 30% of the total loading of 5%Cu-25%Ni-6%K/γ-Al2O3 catalyst. The most optimal reaction conditions was that 500 ℃ as reduction temperature, 380 ℃ as reaction temperature,2.4h-1 as LHSV, 240 ml?g-1?h-1 as H2 space velocity. The conversion of cyclohexanone dimer was 98.7%, the selectivity of o-phenylphenol was 85%.Dibenzofuran were used as raw materials. The results showed that the optimal catalyst was 30% of the total loading of 5%Cu-25%Ni-6%K/γ-Al2O3 catalyst. The most optimal reaction conditions was that 300 ℃ as reduction temperature, 360 ℃ as reaction temperature, 1.2 h-1 as LHSV, 260 ml ? g-1 ? h-1 as H2 space velocity. The conversion of Dibenzofuran was 95%, the selectivity of o-phenylphenol was 13.7%.
