In 1972 Fujishima and Honda in the journal Nature published on TiO2 electrode water photolysis results of scientific research, marking a new era of photocatalytic start. After, the academics who came from chemistry, physics, materials and other fields explored the process of heterogeneous photocatalysis principle around the solar power conversion and storage, and committed to improving the photocatalytic efficiency, and expand its application areas.Until now, the photochemical catalysis already penetrated into the material, the energy, the environmental protection, the medicine, the health and the analysis examination and so on many domains, becomes a major hot spot in the scientific research. Containing anatase and rutile mixed-phase nano-crystalline titanium dioxide with high photocatalytic activity can be used for catalytic degradation of organic matter in the water. The present paper has prepared the nanometer titanium dioxide powder body and the film materials, in the study of its photochemical catalysis mechanism,has developed it in the wastewater treatment application. The paper consisted of four parts.In the first chapter, synthetic method and application of nano-titanium were reviewed, as well as the recent studies on nano-titanium. The purpose, significance and result in this paper were also summarized.In the second chapter, the nanometer TiO2/tourmaline composite photocatalyst was prepared by sol-gol method. The product was characterized by XRD,SEM and so on. Their photocatalytic activity was evaluated by probe reaction of reactive red BES analog dyeing wastewater degradation.In the third chapter, TiO2 and Ag-doping TiO2 coating on glazed tile substraes were prepared. Their photocatalytic activity was evaluated by probe reaction of reactive red BES analog dyeing wastewater degradation. Experimental results indicate that the photocatalytic activity of Ag-doping TiO2 coating is superior to TiO2 coating.In the fourth chapter, conclusion.
