The Reline RTIL (choline chloride and urea) was synthesized and was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The electrodeposition of Zn-Co alloy was investigated in the Reline RTIL oncopper substrates. The results indicate that under proper conditions, the shining Zn-Co coating can be obtained on non-inert electrode from zinc chloride(ZnCl2)and cobaltous chloride(CoCl2)dissolved in ionic liquids mentioned above. The surface morphology and composition of bulk electrodeposits were characterized by SEM,XRD and EDS. The effect of the cathode potential, electrolysis time, electrolysis temperature and concentration ratio of Co (â…¡)/Zn (â…¡) were discussed. The properties of deposit were determined. The electrodeposition of Zn-Ni alloy was investigated in the Reline RTIL. The results indicate that under proper conditions, the Zn-Ni alloy coating can be obtained from zinc chloride(ZnCl2)and nickelous chloride(NiCl2)dissolved in ionic liquids mentioned above. The surface morphology and composition of bulk electrodeposits were characterized by SEM,XRD and EDS. The effect of the cathode potential, electrolysis time, electrolysis temperature and concentration ratio of Ni(â…¡)/Zn (â…¡) was discussed. The properties of deposit were determined.Through the research of RTILs in the electrodepodition of Zn-Co and Zn-Ni alloys , we try to improve the traditional process and develop a new way of Zn-Co and Zn-Ni plating. On the other hand, the use of RTILs accord with the requirement of green chemistry, embody the characterization of"green"and"environment friendship". So the study of this research is of certain significance in the area of theory and appliance.
