Chromium residue which is rejected in the chromate production process or ferroalloy production process, has the serious harm to the human body health and the ecological environment, because chromium residue includes Cr(VI) which is strong oxidability and very strong toxicity.So, how to prevent and cure chromium residue pollution and make chromium residue detoxification and convert into resources is the most important research assignment for a environmental protection worker.This thesis makes optimization experimental study of chromium residue by roll booster on the basic of the theory about metallurgy thermodynamics and using for reference the theory and production experience of agglutination iron-smelting.By framing temperature, time of heat preservation, inverse proportion of chromium residue, an whit the consistence of Cr(VI) in the resultant leaching solution, performance index request of manganic agglomeration,getting the optimizing control parameter of this experiment is that temperature is 1200℃, chromium residue is 20% percentage, time of heat preservation is 40min. Under this experimental conditions, Cr(VI) lixiviate level of agglutination product is 0.0188mg/L, detoxification rate is 99.96%, The alexipharmic effect is good, furthermore, the intensity of agglutination product is strong, the quality is qualified and meetting the requirements. By testing the influence of slag insolation under chromium and acid rain, confirming that under the natural condition, agglutination product open-air depositing is safe and stable.With the help of the modern advanced analytic instruments such as scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffractometer,it is known that after high temperature agglutination, Cr(Ⅵ) in chromium residue deoxidizes to Cr(Ⅲ), and chromium residue becames to anorthite(CaAl2Si2O8),spinel with chromium, magnesium and aluminum (MgAlCrO4), Calcium fayalite(CaFeSiO4) and so on, those structures are all steady, so the solidifiable effect is good,and the second pollution can be prevented.
