As the one of advanced technologies for continuous casting process the dynamic soft reduction can significantly improve center segregation and porosity of continuous casting products. The main purposes of this thesis are to develop the process control system for dynamic secondary cooling and soft reduction for bloom continuous casting independently. That was investigated and developed combining with the features of the operation conditions of bloom continuous casting machine in some factory, based on the analysis of domestic and oversea research progress and application conditions in this field. The developed system has been put into production line since March 2008, with stability and reliabity. So far, several steel grades such as 45#, YQ450,37Mn2, LZ50 have been producted with meeting the design requirement. The main results obtained are as follows:(1) The design of the process control system for dynamic secondary cooling and dynamic soft reduction of bloom. Based on the analysis of the design for the original control level, the process control system including the core control mode, system maintenance mode, data communication mode and client mode was developed.(2) The process control system was designed by constructing the new architecture of hardware, improving the programme for the core control mode and the module of system monitoring,that can run on PC stably and overcome the poor condition at product line.(3) In order to implement the development and debugging of core control mode conveniently, an offline simulator system was designed, that system can be used to simulate the casting process of bloom production both for steady state and unsteady state. The developed simulator provides a good environment for developing and debugging the core control mode and shorten the cycle of development and reduce the cost of debugging. Moreover it can also offer process engineers an useful tool for process developing and parameters optimizing.
