Yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) crystalline ceramic which has excellent optical, mechanical, thermodynamic properties has been widely studied to replace YAG single crystal to be the new solid laser material. The dispersibility and sinterability of YAG powders have important effect to performance of product ceramic, so synthesis and sinter techniques are the key factor of powder preparation, and synthesizing nanometer-materials of different morphology and structure; searching stable and reliable preparation method; developing the new material with excellent properties, are the present study focuses in the field of materials science, chemistry, physics, etc. In this paper, YAG powders were synthesized by high temperature energy ball milling method. In addition, the product performance were also investigated.YAG nanometer powders was prepared by coprecipitation with Y(N O3)3·6H2O,and Al(NO3)3·9H2O as precursor, NH3·H2O as precipitator, calcined 2h. The even particles size of YAG nanometer powders is 100nm. They were characterized by TG-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and laser particle size analysis (LPA).In allusion to the limitation of traditional Preparation, I put co-precipitation and high temperature-energy ball milling method together, through two steps (the preparation of precursors and the milling thermal decomposition precursor), YAG nanometer powders was prepared by high temperature-energy ball milling method. From three comparisons of different angle (the comparison of different reaction systems, the comparison of different raw materials, the comparison of different mehods), I prepared YAG powers using high temperature-energy ball milling. The results showed:YAG nanometer powders was prepared by coprecipitation with Y(N O3)3·6H2O,and Al(NO3)3·9H2O as precursor, NH3·H2O as precipitator, calcined 2h. The sintering temperature was largely reduced, compared to the traditional preparation. photoluminescenceProperties of the test results indicate that the YAG:Ce powder can be used for blue LED technology of a phosphor white LED with excitation spectrum 460 nm, and emission spectrometer 530 nm. The Ce concentration of doping is a main effect of emission spectrometer of YAG:Ce powder. The emission spectrometer reach the maximum, when the relative strength is x= 0.06, followed by weakening trend. However, the peak emission spectroscopy and peak shape do not change with the change of the doping concentration.
