Profile and crown precision of strip are important quality targets, and they are important factors to determine the market competitive power for strip product. Strip shape problems get more and more outstanding and become the point focused by many producers' attention at home and abroad as the increasing quality demands on strip product made by users.According to recently study,the key of hot-strip shape control is the roll gap shape control.The initial roll contour of work and backup roll is the most direct and main influencing factor of roll gap with load,and also is the most flexible and dffective method of the shap control.One of the major method of hot-strip shape control is the design of the initial roll contour of work and backup roll.So it is practical significance to study roll shape curve.Work piece was influenced by many factors such as original profile, tension, rolling force, bending force and rolling velocity. These influences all were nonlinear.Associated with the project of strip shape control system for GangLu 1250mm Hot Strip Finishing Mill.Based on the theory of rolls' elastic deforming, the calculation module of rolls elasticity deformation in 4-h mill was developed by the Influence Function Method, the strip profile under the specified condition was simulated accurately. The module was applicable for calculating rolls elasticity deformation in conventional 4-h mill, PC mill and CVC mill.It would be a useful tool in shape and flat control in hot strip rolling.On the premise that strip crown at exit on each stand was considered,distribution of pressure between rolls was improved and rolling recycle of backup roll was extended by optimizing work and backup roll shape curve.A visual interface of this software was developed with OLE and VBA in the circumstance of VB6. The main works were shown as following:(1) Based on the theory of rolls' elastic deforming, the calculation module of rolls elasticity deformation in 4-h mill was developed by the Influence Function Method.(2) Take the strip flatness in well and the uniform roll intermediate press as target, work roll shape was designed properly and the limit of roll bending force and strip crown at exit on each stand were considered. The application in production show that roll shape could satisfy different rolling schedule. The phenomenon of crack and flaking at the end of backup roll occured for stress concentration was reduced and backup roll life was extended. (3) A visual interface of this software was developed with OLE and VBA in the circumstance of VB6.
