With the developing of industry in china and the rising of energy price, it's an urgent task for refractory industry to research how to reduce fuel consumption. Tunnel kiln is a common device used to produce refractory, which can heat refractory product up to the temperature of technological requirements by fuel combustion process. The fuel combustion process is directly related to product quality and the economic benefit of enterprise. So it has a great practical significance to model and optimize the fuel combustion process of tunnel kiln.Based on the research background of production equipment for refractory product of an enterprise tunnel kiln, a mathematical model of fuel combustion process in firing zone of tunnel kiln is established and the effect of the secondary air flow and the combustion air flow in every car position of tunnel kiln on fuel consumption is analyzed in this thesis, after the related production techniques of tunnel kiln and the principle of fuel combustion process are researched deeply. Because the gradient, the continuity and the derivability of fuel combustion process model is unknown, an improved simulated annealing genetic algorithm is proposed and the optimization solution of optimization objective is realized according to the improved algorithm. The results of simulation show that the improved simulated annealing genetic algorithm has the advantages of better global optimization ability and higher optimization precision, and also the effectiveness of algorithm for solving this problem is proved in this thesis.According to the results of optimization for fuel combustion process in firing zone of tunnel kiln of that enterprise, the mathematical model of fuel combustion process in firing zone of tunnel kiln, established in this thesis, is basically in accordance with practice, which can be used to quantitatively analyze the effects of related factors on fuel consumption. It has certain guiding significance for seeking energy saving measures.
