Since entering the 21st century, the development of continuous casting technology has been a measure of a national industry steel. Since 2003, the steel outputs of China has been the first rank all of the world. As a large country of steel, it is a such important function that China develops continuous casting to innovate the traditional processes and promote optimization of products.Now China is large country of steel outputs, but not a power. The quality and types of steel are still below the developed countries. The level of slab quality control manifest the level of continuous casting in equipment, automation, art and management.This article focuses on promoting continuous casting slab quality and management of Meishan steel company, especially taking the 1# continuous casting machine as the researchful objects and gets achievement as follows:(1) Completed Slab Quality Retrospect and Analysis System.According to the defects occurred in slabs, we can cast back the process data related to the defects and find the reasons in order to propose the solution。The system is efficient and convenient to resolve the practical problems in slab management and defect analysis. So it benefits to becoming more scientific and systemic in slab management and defect analysis.(2) Analyzing the solidification and heat transfer in mouldIn order to control the surface quality of the slab, put forward the analysis algorithm of heat transfer in mould, developed analysis software, based on synthetically analyzing the spot process data, tracking the heat condition in the mould, analyzed the relations between surface quality and process parameters, proposed rational cooling water setting in practice, combined other measures, made surface longitudinal crack reduce 20%.(3) Designed secondary cooling water collocating systemControlled the quality inside and brought forward new algorithm of secondary cooling water collocating. Made use of the computing formula amended to calculate the secondary cooling water flux, advised new controlling water table, combining the other process factors, reduced the unqualified rate of centerline crack, promoted the qualified rate of slab. Our factory produced the 2258.89T unqualified slabs with centerline crack all year, but after using this idea, just produced 1116.20T and reduced 1142.69T. The equiaxed rate was promoted to 14% from 9%.(4) Controlling the lines and gaps of pinch-roller of the continuous casting.Optimized the lines and gaps of pinch-roller, innovated materials and supporting structure of the pinch-roller, prolonged the steady periods of caster exit, reduced the proportion of the centerline crack, promoted the pass rate once 0,8%. Otherwise, after implemented these measures, it would make greater benefits in reducing the maintenance cost of the caster and times of the parking machine, increasing continuity and steel outputs and lessening works of cleaning the slab defects etc.
