This study is stemms from the frame of "the settlement mechanisms of acid rain, and its principle of transit and control" from the government focal point of the basic research development plans ("973"). To gain some understanding of the ozone pollution conditions the regular patterns of the ozone pollution in Liaozhong area, in order to formulate the controlling mechanisms, this study utilized online automatic observing system. Using this system, we carried out observations for the common air polluting materials, VOCs and general meteorology for seven months between February and August 2007. The contents of observation include the general polluting materials such as O3, NO, NO2, NOx, NH3, CO, SO2, PM2.5 and elements of meteorology, such as temperature (TA), relative humidity (RH), dew-point temperature (DP), pressure of atmosphere (PA), solar radiation (SR), ultraviolet radiation (UVR), visibility (VIS), wind speed (WS) and wind direction (WD). We also carried out data selection and data management. Based on the characteristics of the variation of various polluting materials and the meteorological data on both hourly and daily basis, we conducted relevant analyses and factor analyses using a statistical software-SPSS, using which, we obtained the likely basic pattern on how ozone precursors, polluting materials and meteorological elements are affecting the density of ozone in these areas.
