The electroslag remelting technology is a technology about secondary purifying of metal. And its purpose is to obtain the steel ingot with high quality. So we have to control the melting velocity of electrode and the solidification process of steel ingot. There are two core process study of the electro-slag remelting and the 45 steel is the object to study and exploit the visual dynamic simulation system in this thesis.For the electrode melting model, we develop the heat balance equation of the electrode tiny body based on the hypothesis that the electrode is a half infinity axis, and evaluate the surface heat wastage of the electrode and the slag bath through by the electrode. Based on these results, the heat balance equation of the electrode melting part is developed, and the electrode melting velocity is evaluated. Then we can find the method of heightening the velocity and reducing the electricity wastage by visual simulate the process and drawing the chart about correlative factors.To investigate the effect of solidification process on the electroslag remelting (ESR) ingots quality, a dynamically fast response model has been developed for the ESR ingots in their solidifying processes. In the modeling process, the control-volume method is introduced to discretize the algebraic equations, and the added source term method is used to deal with the boundary condition:To solve the rapidly iterative convergence problem of a non-linear model, the Gauss-Seidel method is used. The temperature field and pool shape predicted with the model conform well with the experimental results. Based on the model, a simulation was conducted for the dynamic temperature distribution and pool shape in the solidification process of the 45 steel ingot.In this thesis, the study methods used is a hotspot in domestic foundry industry. It provide a scientific basis for the electrode melting velocity control and the temperature control of the ingot solidification process, and have a certain value for the actual production.
