Studies On The Preparations And Damping Performances Of Polyurethane Hollow Fiber Damping Materials

Polyurethane damping materials of hollow fiber were first made to improve their damping performance, based on the hollow structure had a good cushion performance. A series of polyurethane based hollow fibers were prepared by controlling the parameters of the wet spinning process. Then the damping materials were made from these hollow fibers. Finally, the mechanical properties and dynamic mechanical properties of the hllow fiber damping materials were investigated.By controlling the parameters of the spinning process, the effects of the spinning conditions on the performance of hollow fibers were studied, and recieved the following conclusions:(1) The polyurethane hollow fiber damping materials can be obtained by wet spinning process under the suitable conditions.(2) With the extrusion rate being increased, the outer diameter and wall thickness of hollow fibers were also increased.(3) Within the scope of the research, with the polymer concentration being increased, the tensile strengthes and elongations of hollow fibers were increased, while the porosities were subsequently reduced.(4) Polyurethane blend hollow fibers were easier to be prepared than the polyurethane hollow fibers, but performance of polyurethane blend hollow fibers were changed. Blended PAN, PSF, PVDF, their tensile strengthes and Young's moduluses were reduced, while elongations and porosites were increase. Blended PVC, the porosities and elongations were smaller, while the tensile strengthes and Young's moduluses be gone better. For the added AO-60 and TMP's 8190PU/PVC hollow fibers, their tensile strengthes and Young's moduluses would be deteriorated, while the elongation rates in relation to be changed for the better. And the performance of the hollow fibers added AO-60 of heat-treated were better than to add the AO-60 without heat-treated.The damping properties of hollow fiber damping materials were studied, and the following conclusions were recieved:(1) The impact on the types of polyurethanes: the loss factor of the 8190PU hollow fiber was 0.3, while under the same conditions, the loss factor of 8195PU hollow fiber was 0.33. The storage modulus of 8190PU hollow fiber was bigger than 8195PU hollow fiber under the same conditions.(2) The effect of the 8190PU concentration: when the 8190PU concentrations were 24%, the damping property of 8190PU hollow fibers was best, and the loss factor was reached 0.68.(3) The comparing experiment was showed that under the same conditions, the damping property of the damping material of hollow structure was much better than the damping property of damping material of plate structure (The loss factor of the damping material of plate structure, was 0.28, and the storage modulus was less than 300MPa; While the loss factor of the damping material of hollow structure, was 0.68, and the storage modulus was more than 3000MPa).(4) For the hollow fiber blends which were blended PAN, PSF, PVDF, or PVC, respectively, their storage moduluses and loss factors were lower than the 8190PU hollow fiber under the same conditions, while the glass transition temperature of these hollow finer blends were changed a little.(5) The loss factor, storage modulus and glass transition temperature of the 8190PU/PVC hollow fiber with AO-60 was improved respectively. And this phenomenon was much obvious when AO-60 was heat-treated. The greatest impact of TMP on the 8190PU/PVC system was to improve the glass transition temperature. It was a little effect on the loss factor of 8190PU system with the modified nano-TiO2, and much impact on the storage modulus. And the glass transition temperature of the system was improved.
