As the rapidly development of economy, the population transfer from the underdeveloped area to urban areas, which leads to their rising population density and holds more people and more behaviors by surrounding their expansion. At the same time, with the arrival of the information era, science and technology change with each passing day leads to the upgrading production of industrial mode of producing and the re-equipments of advanced production system. Massive industrial construction were abandoned and moved to the urban development new space in this promotion's process, which left abandoned significant industrial buildings.New York SOHO area's old workshop transformation had ignited a LOFT style frenzy of architecture across the world in the 1940s. After several dozens years development, the Chinese LOFT construction develops fragrantly, however, the overwhelming majority of LOFT construction transformation cased stressed one-sidedly the space design, which mostly neglected the importance of design in the LOFT construction. Against the backdrop of the global energy deficient and sustainable development, it is necessary to develop the construction energy. Because of the use function's transformation in the LOFT construction, their requirements for indoor thermal environment are becoming more strictly. Therefore, it is necessary to transfer the energy conservation to the LOFT construction. We start with the choice of Chinese city renewal faced, in the first chapter, we resume the reason on LOFT construction and its development, which points out the energy consumption problem in the developing process and then carries on the analysis to the topic significance, finally determines the research aim of this article. In the second chapter, we analysis the LOFT construction's spatial characteristic as well as the building physical characteristic are unifying the LOFT construction examples, which raise a question on energy consumption of LOFT construction. The third chapter, we carry on the energy conservation design separately and attempt with some new materials and the methods in energy conservation design, for example the use of membrane material. In the fourth chapter,we integrated design the energy conservation to the LOFT49,which put the theory into practice. The questionnaire model is attached to the paper final which provides the essential data for the energy conservation design by field trip.
