The primary tasks are to storage and communicate for acquisition of large power data in the popularization and development of substation intelligence. In solving this problem, adopting data compression to reduce data storage space, so as to reduce the time needed for data transmission. In this article, it researches theoretically and hardware implements of compressing, decompressing and transferring power data.Basing on the characteristics of the redundant message of power data, this article uses the method that the dictionary finds redundant features format by self-development and implementation to compress the redundant data of power system. This data compression method has the advantage that can be good for the formats and units of the power system redundant information. The compressed text maintains good form and the original useful data. The actually measured compressing ratio of this algorithm is not less than 30%. In good compressing ratio condition, it uses smaller programmer relative amount of test data, and easier to be implemented.Finally, this article puts forward a processing electric data system which is based on DSP TMS320F2812, Power data send from the RJ45 interface to the TMS320F2812.TMS320F2812DSP as a control chip which accomplishes the compression algorithm of electrical data's realization and control in order to deal with power data. Being easy and feasible, this system has low power consumption, quick processing, better real-time.
