The train positioning technology based on GPS (Global Positioning System) has constantly developed in the train control system because of its stability, low cost, easy maintenance, and etc. Thus, the capability test of on-board GPS receiver and the verification of digital track map have become more important. However, both of these jobs are restrained by the actual environment of train field, as all of the relevant tests, such as single-point test, continuous multi-point test and repeated track test, have to be done in the actual complex environment. An indoor train localization simulation system is extremely necessary to reduce the test cost and improve the R&D efficiency. Based on the subject supported by National High Technology Research Development Program of China (863 plan)- Key Technologies of the Low-Cost Train Control System, the thesis focuses on the Design and Implementation of Train Localization Simulation System based on GNSS Simulator.The devised train localization simulation system can generate simulate environment information and radio frequency (RF) signal by simulating the real trajectory of train-traversal in station and the motion state of train. It can then provide the environment information and the RF signal to the on-board GPS receiver to simulate the running of the train.A new continuous traversal algorithm based on Depth First Search (DFS) is proposed to make sure that the simulation system can simulate the real trajectory of train-traversal in the indoor environment.A GSS8000 simulator is used as the source of simulate radio frequency signal. Based on further development of default controller named SimGEN, a new control software named SimTRAIN is developed in C++ language on Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 platform. The GSS8000 simulator can output RF signal which include predefined information under the control of SimTRAIN. The implementations on a real station and a railway block are given as examples.
