Direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind turbine is one of today's main types of wind turbine. On account of its high efficiency, convenient to produce, good control effect, PMSG gradually become the focus of study. This dissertation introduces the relevant elements of wind power, provides general introduction of direct drive wind turbine and doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbine, focuses on the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control technology of the direct drive permanent magnet synchronous generator.Research projects are based on permanent magnet synchronous generator mode, the mathematical model of the structure and internal electromagnetic relation was analyzed. Permanent magnet synchronous generator usually adopts vector control, using coordinate transformation to simplify the control of the machine.Firstly, the study carries out on the basis of the simulation of permanent magnet synchronous generator. Then the verification and analysis of relevant content of the maximum torque per ampere control strategy was given. The advantage of the maximum torque per ampere control strategy of the permanent magnet synchronous generator can be obtained by the research of maximum torque per ampere control strategy of the permanent magnet synchronous generator. This dissertation builds simulation models of maximum torque per ampere control strategy and the control strategy of id=0 of permanent magnet synchronous generator and validate the response performance of the two control methods.By using DC motor to drive the synchronous machine, experiment platform of synchronous machine's vector control system is built. Through the design of DSP software and hardware, maximum torque per ampere control strategy of the synchronous generator is finished and was proved to be feasible.
