The EPS energy-saving wall is a new structure system, compose the wall with the EPS light-weight aggregate concrete module which is prefab in factory, and then layout reinforcement in hole of vertical and horizontal respectively, pouring self-compacting concrete in the hole tested under vertical load and cyclic lateral load, so formed the concrete grillage wall, as the main load-bearing member. Its advantages are that it sets insulation, heat insulation, energy-saving, recycling, environmental protection, light weight, bearing, economic at an organic whole, and construction process is very simple, so short time of project. The wall technology application in residential buildings in our country has broad application prospects. The security and the adaptability of the structure system restrict its extension and application. A great deal of research and experiment is still needed in order to assess the seismic behavior of the wall. So in this paper, conducted a pilot study of seismic behavior of EPS energy-saving wall, the results of the research can reference for engineering practice and the preparation of EPS energy-saving wall products application technology standard. The studying work in this paper is as follows:(1)Experimental study on 8 concrete grillage walls under cyclic loading the low level of the pseudo-static seismic performance test, research and analysis the wall characteristics of failure modes, shear strength, deformation properties, energy dissipation and stiffness degradation and so on;(2)Through the analysis of the three groups of the walls with different shear span ratio, study on seismic behavior of concrete grillage walls with different shear span ratio;(3)Through the analysis of the four groups of the walls with different vertical steel ratio, study on side strengthen column which impact the wall failure mode and seismic performance;(4)Analyzing the test results and compared with the results of numerical calculations, so as to choose the more reasonable calculation formulars.Test results show that: The experiments of the walls with different shear span ratios from 0.8~1.33, under vertical load and cyclic lateral load analysis shows that the walls are shear failure mainly. Stiffness of the walls drop quickly after cracking, and then drop gently after getting limit load. The walls have good ductility. Side strengthening column can improve effectively the shear capacity. The ultimate bearing capacity and lateral stiffness of the walls drop significantly with increasing the shear span ratio, but the plastic deformation ability of them can be strengthen. Analyzing the test results and according to the formula of shear bearing capacity of the reinforced concrete shear wall (except sectional area of voids), the calculation results fits well with the experimental results. It turned out that the wall have good seismic behavior, and it can be widely used in housing construction for civil in practical engineering.
