Embankment project is the key water conservancy project about people's livelihood, its security and stability is very important. In the flood season, seepage deformation is the main cause of the embankment dangerous situation, piping in which accounted for a considerable proportion. However, due to the randomness and complexity of the piping, there is considerable controversy about the mechanism of occurrence and development of piping at present, there is no generally accepted research methods and theory. Further penetration of piping mechanism are great theoretical and practical significance for predicting the occurrence form and specific location of damage and scientific guiding the emergency reinforcement of embankment. It is necessary to build a dike safety warning systems based on theoretical research of the piping for the dynamic update of piping data to and disaster forecasting. It is of great significance for the safety of life and property .The main work includes:(1) A large number of domestic and foreign research data about piping has collected and describing in detail the process of formation and development of piping; A number of meaningful conclusions has obtained by the levee piping factors.(2) By the data analysis of laboratory of the Yellow River on piping model test and prototype observation flood drill field test, the development and the formation of piping can summarize four stages. The change of the flow rate in the piping channel , pressure distribution , imports of suction piping size and other parameters has studied.(3) Soil will be generalized as three-phase model of the soil, that soil skeleton phase, fine particles and liquid water phase based on the coupling mechanism of the development of piping. The development of piping flow erosion coupling mechanism is proposed based on the continuous dynamics in porous media, and establish the multi-phase mass conservation equation, while introducing of seepage erosion of the constitutive equation, piping erosion coupled multiphase flow model has established. The large-scale of Comsol PARDISO sparse matrix method use for the parameters of the model of the system. The model considers the phase flow of water particles and the erosion of soil skeleton coupling , it is more realistic simulation for the development of the piping of non-steady state and highly nonlinear complex process.(4) Based on ArcGISServer platform, the early warning systems and piping in embankment safety information database has primary established using numerical simulation results , it can quickly browse and search a position of piping disaster , dynamically updated data can provide accurate and timely flood control dike information.
