Orthotropic steel bridge deck has widely used to bridge construction, because it has characteristic of good mechanical properties, light weight, easy installation and short construction cycle. However, the fatigue issue of orthotropic steel bridge deck has been endangering the life of bridge. Many countries have appropriate research on the fatigue problem of orthotropic steel bridge deck. Europe, U.S. and Japan prescribe fatigue load, construct standard fatigue load and fatigue vehicle. There are no clear regulations for vehicle load spectrum in road bridge design code of China, which make difficulties to steel bridge fatigue design and life assessment. This thesis introduces study situation of road steel bridge fatigue design load at home and aboard in detail in recent years, analyses and calculates three different structural orthotropic steel bridge deck by loading typical road bridge fatigue vehicle model, the content is as follows:(1) Introduce development history of orthotropic steel bridge deck, causes of fatigue issue, analysis methods, and study situation.(2) Describe basic concepts and theories of fatigue analysis. Analyse fatigue cracks origin and research methods. Summarize research results of fatigue load spectrum in America AASHTO specifications, UK BS5400 criterions, Europe Eurocode standards and Japan norms on.(3) Compare fatigue capability on different diaphragm spacing, U rib size and deck thickness,by means of making ansys finite element models of three different structural orthotropic steel bridge deck, and assess.
