The resistance comes from the viscosity of the water when the ships or underwater vehicles move. The frictional resistance takes up 70% to 80% of all resistance. The common testing equipment of the frictional resistance is water tunnel set, which has limited application for the complicated structure, the high cost, the difficulty of the simulation of the flow field and the long test period. Therefore, it will have theoretical and practical significance to design a reducing resistance testing equipment with the characters of a simple structure, low cost, easy simulation of the experimental flow and widely used.Based on the principle of water tunnel set and the performance criteria of drag reduction testing device, an experimental device design was proposed in this paper, and the device both had the characters of conventional water tunnel set and dragging around. And the device could be detachable and easy replaceable, for the two sides of the working part had the detachable experimental model.The theoretical analysis and structure design were made on the drag reduction testing device, and the two-dimension models and graphics were also built in this paper.The water mechanics analyses were done on the drag reduction testing device, a suitable equations of Reynolds calculations were made for the work part. And the pressure model, velocity model were also built in the work part.The cross-section model of the work part was built by the software Gambit and the mesh was also generated by the same software. Then by the Fluent, one of the CFD softwares, and using the standard k-εmodel, the inside flow field of the reducing resistance testing device was simulated, at same time, the comparative analysis between the wall test and the center test was also finished in this paper and the results satisfied the reasonableness of the structure. Therefore this method could provide the theoretical direction to the scientificity of the experimental data.
