Inertial measurement technology based on the inertia principle, has been much rapid developed in recent decades. It has been used in marine navigation widely with its increased accuracy. But it stems from the shortcoming of functional expansion. The information of parameters (horizontal swing, vertical swing and heave) meets the needs of ships'manipulator. It is to develop a navigation system that overcomes the shortcomings of original fuction.The primary objective of this research is to understand the inertial measurement system, and given the definition of ship's instantaneous. Then it should get the instantaneous line of ship motion measurement method. The key technology of high-pass digital filter design has also been elaborated, included the basic principles and design methods of finite impulse response filter (FIR) and infinite impulse response filter (IIR). The key parameter of high-pass filter is proposed for ship movement parameters of the instantaneous line motion based on measurement program.According to the measurement program of ship's instantaneous line motion, computer simulation and multi-functional platform in the laboratory is designed to testify the method. The measurement method is provided by testing in a wide range of sea conditions. The simulation results show measurement system of ship's instantaneous line motion is robust and has high accuracy.
