The thesis is a part of 5th special research of the New Technology Study on Design and Construction of Large-scale Canal supported by the national scientific and technologic planned projects, which aims to realize the information processing and automatic recognition technique of GPR detecting sectional of the canal concrete lining quality. Through 3 years of study, theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, indoor experiments, real detection, software development etc have been applied and the planned objectives have been achieved.Through correlations on numerical simulation, indoor experiments and field real detecting data profiles in the thesis, the profile features of ground penetrating radar of the lining defects on two typical lining structures of thermal insulation slab, rubble lining and the nonuniform thickness, fractures, nonuniform compactness, cracking, damage etc of the thermal insulation layer have been summarized, and the typical abnormal signal for signal determination have also been provided.The data processing modules for improving the profile signal resolution, such as predicted deconvolution, horizontal filtering, axial filtering etc have been developed. The reflecting interfaces tracing based on signal scanning processing technique and defects anomaly automatic determination based on computer graphics theory have been implemented. Based on the above results, the special data processing software system has been developed.The research results will improve the detecting level of the canal lining quality and guarantee the construction quality of the canals of the Project of South-to-North Water Diversion. Furthermore, it also can be applied in lining detecting of other projects and quality detecting of concrete sheet. Consequently, it has a favorable popularization prospects.
