Hybrid girder cable-stayed bridge is a kind of combined structure system. Two materials are composed in its main girder. Main span of which is steel, and its side span (part of stretching in main span) is concrete girder. For its steel property of main span, hybrid girder cable-stayed bridge has a huge span capacity. With concrete girder on the side span, it is well-anchored and the construction cost is therefore lowered. Hybrid girder cable-stayed bridge combines two materials'advantages. It has been rapidly developed in recent years because of its entire force endurance, economy benefit, and convenience in construction.The development of this bridge type and research status at home and abroad was reviewed and summarized in this paper. Elaborate analysis and design have been carried out for main bridge of Jiangxi Feilong Island Bridge. Its span is (150+48+38)m, single pylon, double-cable-plane, hybrid girder, cable-stayed bridge. From the engineering design point of view, we carried out an elaborate structure analysis. This paper is not only confined in calculating the static design, but also analyzes the structure stability and dynamic behaviors. At the same time, we got the buckling mode, stability factor, vibration mode, frequency. Furthermore, the dynamic Characteristics of this bridge have been calculated combining the current bridge design code and relevant design theory. With the above design selects, structure calculation and analysis, the results show the design plan is secure and advanced. The research can provide some experience for the same type of bridge.
