Structural reliability analysis and optimization are of great importance in modern engineering structural research and study. The stochastic factors of the structural physical parameters, geometry dimensions and the stochastic loads applied on truss structures are simultaneously in the analysis. The stochastic perturbation method is employed to obtain the computational expressions for the numerical characteristic of the structural responses (displacements and element stresses) that are random variables. We established optimization mathematical models with the structural reliability constraints based on the structural reliability analysis, thereby establishing a robust optimization design model. Finally, the genetic algorithm (GA) of the paper is optimized for solving the model, numerical results show that the proposed methods and models are feasible and effective.
