The Study On The Building Skins Expressing Structure Art In The Contemporary Era

With the rapid development of economy and the progress of technology, in the prosperous enviroment of architecture creation brought by various civilization, building skins and constructure which are the physical carriers of the design intention of architects, gradually turn into the focus of architecture creation.However,the studies on the shape of building skins and constructure in the past were taken seperately.Although the studies had achieved great positive results,there are still huge potential existing in the relationships between building skins and constructure which have not been dug out.Therefore,the thesis takes building skins expressing structure art as the main target of the study,with the hope of some progresses on the expressing methods of architectural art from the relationships between building skins and construction.In the first chapter of the thesis,the author categorizes the study about building skins in the era of classicism,the era of modernism and the era of post-modernism, then analysed seperately.Based on the work above,the author seperately made the defination of builing skins from the the abstract and objective perspectives.In the second chapter, the connections between the shape of building skins and the expression of constructure art were found in the typical native and abroad architectures in the different eras, which include building skins images based on the visual gradations of constructre and the basic shapes of constructure and the esthetic orientations of constructure.In the third chapter,according to the peculiarities of the shape of architecture in the contemporary era,the shape elements of building skins were sum up into two types of plane figure and three-dimension shape.Plane figures and three-dimension shapes were analysed separately and gradely in order to rationalize the relationships between them.Then,from the vision of space interface,the values of the shapes of constructure were sum up into two types of forming the architectural shape and the architectural space,the functional shapes of the building skins were sum up into the expressional building skins and the techniqual building skins.In the forth chapter,the study was based on the patterns of building skins expressing constructure art which have been achieved from the studies in the second chapter and the relationships between building skins and constructure which were formed in the third chapter.Based on them,the actural methods on how to use different languages of buildings skins to express the corresponding shape elements of constructure were sum up by analysing the architectural examples with the methods from other theories.The methods expressing the shapes of constructure with plane figure include the densign of plane figure based on the basic shapes of constructure,the design of plane figure based on the visual gradations of construction and the design of plane figeure based on the constructing esthetic orientations of construction.The methods expressing the shape of constructure were sum up into the design of three-dimension shape of building skins based on the esthetic orientations of the components of constructure.Finally,the positive effects of the shape of building skins based on the construction art expression to the realization of the value of construction and the building skins are extracted in the fifth chapter. In the aspect of realizing the values of construction,the shape of building skins based on the construction art expression can realize its values on modeling architectural shape by the visual decomposition and composition to the architectural shape.It can also realize its value on constituting architectural space by architectural space decorations without the bad influences on the using qualities.In the aspect of the expressional building skins,the shape of building skins based on the construction art expression can change its expressing situation by knocking together symbols and fing out the potential of shape of building skins composed of functional components.In the aspect of the technical building skins,this kind of shape of building skins can provide some frames of shape which could make the arrangement of the solar components more elegant in order to unify the functions and art of building skins together.
