The open-pit mine dump covers an area of 30~50% of the whole mining. In order to increase the land utilization, the height of dump must be increased to reduce the waste dump area. However, Geotechnical engineering as an especially project, the self-respect load is rise in company with the augment of the row materials. Furthermore, rainfall as an influence factor, the dump is result in landslip and debris flow lightly due to the variation of mechanics properties. The disparate damage pattern and control measures as a result of the diverse conditions of engineering geological circumstance for varying component of dump. Consequently, under the backgrounds of the Jinxin 3" dump of copper and molyb denum at chifeng Jiguan Mountain in Sino steel Corporation, the thesis needs optimization design afresh base on the excogitation and estimation of dump stability, which is in allusion to severe deformation of dump. The main research results are as follows:1. Based on the engineering geological conditions and the essential situation, to replenish the exploration of GPR and local reconnaissance of drilling, it completes the insufficient data; together with confirm rock mechanics parameters and strata distribution information.2. By using mature FLAC2D numerical simulation method, research on the slope dump of entirety angle of 30°and 24°which are single steps, and angle of 24°which is multiple steps Analyzing the deformation and damage pattern, it adopt scheme of multiple steps in sub step ultimately.3. Designing for 3# dump which ascertains the parameters of slope angle, platform width and limit height based on the sliding field theory and limit equilibrium method, it could evaluate its stability and calculate the heap load. Put forward the deficiency of existing boundary as well as re-optimize the design of the heap rows.4. According to the migration equations of two-dimensional flow for water sediment mixture, it researches the formation mechanism of dump landslide and debris flow, and absorbs the starting condition and discriminate method of rock glacier containing particles. For certain concentration of water sediment mixture, starting easier contains particles at same slope. Therefore, in order to avoid disasters of landslide and debris flow, it puts forward the process of existing dump craft.5. Designing drainage system for 3# dump, aqueduct and cut-off ditch for slope, culvert for bottom and backside of dump.
