Shield construction is one of important means of subway construction and has an irreplaceable role for its'unique characteristics such as intelligence, safety and quickness, but it inevitably has disturbing effects on external forces and supporting state of the existing structures. Therefore, how to accurately predict and control the impact on the adjacent structures caused by construction is an important issue.Based on Beijing Subway Line 15 across the culvert of Beijing-Chengde railway and Aiming at the deformation of the existing railway culvert caused by the shield construction, on-site monitoring and numerical simulation are adopted systematically in this research。Following are some main issues and achievements:(1)The main technical aspects of shield construction and the main construction factors that have an impact on the surrounding environment were systematically summarized. The factors influencing ground surface settlement and the surrounding rock's plastic zone and plastic evolution during shield construction were studied by the 3-D FEM. The construction process of the Beijing Subway Line 15 across the culvert of the Beijing-Chengde railway was simulated by the 3-D FEM.The effect of railway culvert by Shield Tunneling construction on the railway culvert's differential settlement, tilt, Internal Force is analysed.(2)Through the on-site monitoring, the laws of the culvert settlement, and ground surface deformation during the process of the Beijing Subway Line 15 across the culvert of the Beijing-Chengde railway were revealed. The calculated settlement law from numerical analysis was compared with the one from on-site monitoring of project.(3) At last, measurements are given to reduced the construction disturbance with the actual Parameters.
