With the rapid development of China's economic, the number of car per capital is increasing. At the same time, the car rollover accident is also increasing due to a too much rolling. Thus, it is necessary to take an active control to prevent rollover accidents when the car rolls. Extensive researches on active roll control have been carried out at home and abroad, including through active brake and differential brake controlling the roll, through four wheel steering controlling the roll, through active or semi-active suspension controlling the roll, through using the stabilizer bar to affect the suspensionto controlling the roll.The present paper adopts damping adjustable semi-active suspension to control the car roll. Although extensive researches have been carried out in this area at home and abroad, jet most of them choose a less working condition, or by controlling the yaw of the car to control the car roll indirectly. Therefore, this paper selects a large number of steering conditions to control the vehicle roll, and the main research includes following aspects:Build the vehicle roll control dynamics simulation model; introduce the overall structure of dynamics model; complete the mathematical formulas of the vehicle roll control dynamics simulation model; build the dynamics simulation module within the framework of Matlab/Simulink, thus provide a simulation platform for the car roll control.Explore the algorithm of vehicle roll control, mainly containing the algorithm of the classical PID control and fuzzy PID control, to build PID controller and fuzzy PID controller.Does a car roll control simulation based on three sates suspension damper in the steering conditions. Adjust the front and rear damping, left and right damping, as well as all the damping among hard, middle, soft three states. Validate and analysis the adjustment of the suspension damper can control the car roll in a steering condition. Obtain the best program of the adjustment in different conditions. Provide the theoretical reference for car roll control based on the damping continuously adjustment. Does a car roll control simulation based on damping continuously adjustment in double lane, step steer, fish hook steering conditions. Do a verification analysis of the control effect between the PID controller and fuzzy PID controller. Do a comparative analysis of the controlling effect between the damping continuously adjustment and three states damping adjustment.Results:Through a car roll control simulation based on three sates suspension damper in steering condition, we can draw a conclusion that the adjustment of the damper can control the car roll, and obtain the car control best program of damping matching in different conditions. With the increasing of adhesion coefficient, the effect of front rear damping match and left right damping match on controlling the yaw and lateral side of the inhibitory is getting better and better. With the increasing of the speed, the car has a better manipulation of stability and comfort when the suspension damping is chosen left, right matching.Through the car roll control simulation based on damping continuously adjustment, we come to the conclusion that in terms of the effectiveness and speed of response the fuzzy PID controller algorithm is better than PID controller. From the simulation experiments between fuzzy PID control and the relative option damping match in fish hook condition, we can prove that the effect of the continuously adjustable damping control is better than the best damping matching in the three sates suspension damper.
