As people's living standards enhance, per capita car ownership is also greatly enhanced, followed by road traffic safety has become a focus of growing concern. Electronic Stability Program can help drivers control the stability of vehicle, especially in high speed or driving on low friction coefficient surface conditions, the car is easily lost its lateral stability. ESP system can provide compensation torque to control the stability of the car by differential braking and engine control. Nowadays,ESP has become an international hotspot in active safety control research. Many countries have developed regulations to force vehicles equipped with ESP system. In China ESP is still in the research stage, some time in the future the system will be much room for development and application prospects.This study based on dSPACE hardware in the loop test bench, do an object evaluation to sagitar 2.0 ESP system. Summarize the method of ESP evaluation, complete related tests, verify the performance of ESP system. This study mainly includes the following details:The first chapter is an introduction. It introduces the topics presented and the significance of ESP system research, and also introduced the development status of ESP, working principle, some of the commonly used control methods of ESP.The second chapter introduces the simulation environment of ESP evaluation. This paper is based on dSPACE test bench. First introduces two kinds of real-time hardware in the loop simulation environment: dSPACE and xPC Target, and compared the advantages and disadvantage of both. And then introduce the veDYNA simulation software including the operation and the vehicle model in the software. At last I set the vehicle parameters in the GUI panel. This chapter makes the foundation for the evaluation test.The third chapter disguises the methods of the ESP evaluation. In this chapter introduces the vehicle's active safety performance evaluation method: subjective evaluation and objective evaluation methods, and the two methods are compared. Objective evaluation is evaluating the vehicle with the instruments and equipment followed certain test standards in a particular field or experiments road, and then processing the experimental data to get the final evaluation report. Subjective evaluation is made by experts and drivers with their existing knowledge and experience to judge the performance of the vehicle. This study is mainly about the objective evaluation of the ESP system, and in this chapter I introduced an evaluation method with slip angle and slip angle rate phase diagram.The forth chapter is mainly about hardware in the loop test and ESP evaluation. With the ESP hardware in the loop test bench I do the double lane change test, single lane change test, sin test, snake test and extract the parameters related to vehicle stability. With the data I draw the lines with ESP control and without ESP control and analysis the result to prove the control effect of ESP. And then I draw the line in slip angle and slip angle rate phase diagram and verify the ESP performance.Through this study, we verify the actual work perforance of the ESP system, and also verify the given evaluation.
