Radial inflow turbine is widely used in aerospace power systems and the power plants which need compact structure, in the area of automotive turbocharger; the small radial inflow turbine is much more used. With the aerodynamic performance requirement for the turbine is getting higher and higher, expand research of the flow characteristics inside a turbine stage, flow loss and related testing methods have a great significance to improve the research level of the turbine.This paper focuses on a type of turbocharger turbine as research object, first uses 3-D modeling software to set up geometry model of the turbine stage, and then presents three-dimensional numerical simulation research on the flow inside a radial inflow turbine, from the perspective of flow loss to analyze flow field structure, flow behavior and the influence of turbine's adiabatic efficiency. In order to from test the turbine exit temperature to gain the turbine's adiabatic efficiency conveniently, this paper also researches the flow of turbine's exit and the influence to the efficiency measuring parameters especially to the turbine exit temperature.From paper's work, it verified that the reliability of the single turbine blade row computation model which built and made certain the cause of errors between computational efficiency characteristic curve and experimental result. Calculated with a more comprehensive characteristic curve under the turbo engine rated speed condition, through research, it gaines the flow and flow loss characteristic inside volute, nozzle, impeller and the influence to turbine's adiabatic efficiency. From the perspective of entire turbine stage, quantitative determines the energy loss size on each parts of the turbine and energy distribution relationship and their impact on the adiabatic efficiency. It built a coupled blade rows computation model and has been verified by the test date. Analyzed whole wheels effect, the uneven flow of turbine exit, the distribution law of adiabatic efficiency test parameters especially the temperature on turbine exit and the flow influence on temperature field. Conducted the test verification on feasibility of measure adiabatic efficiency which base on test turbine exit temperature and made verification on the simulation results. At last proposed a turbine adiabatic efficiency test method which base on exit temperature.The research results will be instructive in flow analysis, control flow loss to improving efficiency and developing adiabatic efficiency test method.
