A vigorous development of new energy technology today, it will instead of oil, coal and other non renewable energy. This new energy fields each r&d institution is working hard to develop new use of the new energy equipment, the electric car is one of them. Electric car with its green environmental advantages for the present is the most popular value in the new energy vehicle. Meanwhile the new LiFePO4 power battery becomes a device of electric vehicles storing electric energy, it greatly promotes the development of electric vehicles.This article has designed electric vehicles power management system based on the LiFePO4 power battery, this system is divided into the host machine part and the lower machine part, The host machine uses the STC12C5A16AD MCU as a main controller, and a main controller of the lower machine is the C8051F410 MCU. And this system depends on their designed circuits to get the LiFePO4 power battery's voltage parameters, current parameters and the temperature parameters, which are processed. Besides, using a CAN bus to design communication, and making the host machine and lower machine has good transmission of dataes or commands each other. The host machine has a LCD display equipment, which can real-time view the power battery working condition.This article has designed the system has the advantages of the hardware reliability and the strong anti-interference capability, low cost and easy maintenance, data measurement accuracy of 1%, SOC prediction accuracy of 5%, can very well suitable for the applications of electric vehicles.
