In recent years, the frequent occurrence of strong earthquakes make people put forward to higher requirement for the seismic safety of the civilian buildings as well as bridges and tunnels, especially after the 9.0 earthquake occurred 130 kilometers east of the Honshu Island,Sendai Port in Japan and the 5.12 earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan province, China. Strong earthquake caused a large number of reinforced concrete structure damaged, as an important component materials of the structure, the damage performance of the steel under seismic is particularly important. At present, China has successfully developed high-strength steel HRB500, with the advantages of increasing the structure strength, reducing the steel consumption and the cross-section dimensions of the structure, etc., but there still lacks research of the high strain low cycle fatigue properties under earthquake currently.For the further understanding of the low cycle fatigue properties of HRB400 and HRB500, and also for the promotion of HRB400 and HRB500 in practical application of the architectural structure to improve the seismic performance, it is necessary to test the low cycle fatigue properties of HRB400 and HRB500. For the same time, we also should compare them with the other styles reinforced steel, so that their seismic advantages and characteristics can be shown, finally we can get them better used in engineering field.This research has done the fatigue test on the HRB400 steel in the low cycle load:We analyze the phenomenon, separately from circulation response characteristics, cyclic stress strain relations, strain life relations, stress life relations, over fatigue life relations, and fracture phenomena.Preliminary analysis shows that the low cycle fatigue performance of the HRB500 reinforced steel is better than the currently used HRB400 reinforced steel.
