Research of unmanned surface vehicles (USV) has been rising in the worldwise.As an unmanned platform,USV is gradually used as alternative or complement for manned platform in certain dangerous fields.Domestic research of USV has just started, there is quite a distance with the research level of foreign countries. In order to design and manufacture effective USV for military purposes as soon as possible, this thesis has chose to study the architecture of USV as the first step of research.,to research and design the system components and function principles from the overall view, which provides a reference for the subsequent research.Firstly,the domestic and foreign research situation and development trends of USV are introduced,as well as the current key technologies.The architecture of USV is defined,then the research content of this thesis is identified. Combined domestic demand, this thesis mainly researches the architecture of USV used for coastal defense.The functions analysis and design of this type of USV are given in detail. To achieve this, from the physical level the USV's System components are analyzed and designed,USV physical architecture which is consistent with its functions is finished.Through analyzing the relationship between the component modules, USV logical architecture is completed. Considering the inherent complexity of USV, refer to principle of hierarchical intelligent control, this thesis designs USV's control system architecture, and designs USV's auto navigation system in detail, as well as the design concept of general control node that is adepted to control system hierarchy which is used to be as guidelines in system development and design.Finally, computer simulation method is used to study the key technologies involved in automatic navigation system, the mathematical model of USV is built on the basis of Nomoto model, and the USV's course controller is designed according to closed-loop gain shaping control algorithm.Simulation results are satisfactory.
