road networks become more complex, intelligent transport systems is an effective way to improve the city traffic conditions.the vehicle path of navigation in ITS is the most important feature,and is ITS foundation.As development of GIS to 3D GIS, Vehicle navigation system as one of the field of GIS also have opportunities to develop to 3D direction which more emphasis on the visual effect.. So far the corresponding production of 3d navigation have launched although there are more or less shortage,but has made remarkable progress.Against this background this paper studies and designs 3D vehicles navigation system on ArcGIS Engine, verified the feasibility of vehicle navigation In 3D scene.This paper mainly based on the process of vehicle navigation system,and explained concepts and related technologies, development component realized process for every technology, integrated into the reunification at last, realized the basic functions of vehicle navigation The major work of the paper as following:(1) Analysing and reading of GPS dataThe data format of GPS receiving is defined by NMEA-0183,set example of $GPRMC data to parse the information needed by the orientation and navigation,for the system calls.(2) Map matching technologyBecause of errors of the navigating map and GPS receivers, the location of the point is not necessarily in road line, but the one side of the road. So needing forced to projection to the road line by Map matching(3) The production navigation electronic maps, based on the network datasetThe maps of Navigation electronic are foundation of Vehicle navigation system,and the route data is the main participants of traffic behavior.in order to increase the efficiency of navigation and facilitate the analysis of shortest path, the paper adopted network data sets provided by ArcGIS as Data model.(4) The establishment of the 3D modelThree-dimensional scene of the system established by Google SketchUp. Use the figure for reference building of three-dimensional model makes use of second-dimensional Vector figure by sketchup software, and then Import to Multipatch elements concentration provided by ArcGIS centralized for the system calling.(5) The development of modules of system functionsOverall some technical and methods, at last this paper realized functions of the shortest path search and Attribute inquiring and so on, also set up the linkage of two and three dimensions, Spatial Query, Flying along and other Auxiliary functions.
