Theoretical and experimental reseach in tokamak is the central issue of the controlled nuclear fusion. The study that how to make tokamak operate stably is the frontier and hot sports of magnetic confinement fusion research. In all kinds of instabilities that lead to the plasma rupture, the magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) instability has been concern.Tearing mode is a dominant MHD instability in tokamak, because it is a important factor to induce plasma rupture. It is important significance to study the generation, gowth and control tearing mode.In this thesis, first of all the generation of tearing mode is introduced. Then,it introduces the theory of classical tearing mode including the linear and nonlinear evolution of single tearing mode and double tearing mode.We adopt the reduced resistive MHD equation with boundary layer method to study the entire linear evolution of double tearing mode with emphasis on scaling laws of the growth rate. The numerical simulation shows that the linear growth rate of the double tearing mode is proportional to S-1/3 for resistivity, when the two resonant surface is sufficiently small, in the opposite to S-3/5.Similar analysis it is proportional to R-1/5 for electron viscosity, when the two resonant surface is sufficiently small, in the opposite to R-1/3.Finally,it introduces the theory that how to controll the tearing mode.An analysis in this thesis can be a certain reference value on the magnetic configuration design in tokamak.
