For a long time,due to favorable dimensional stability, high mechanical strength and low cost, stone-aggregate is the only choice for asphalt mix.However, the stone-aggregate asphalt mix has some drawbacks still:high density, low deformation, less elastic recovery and poor thermodynamics performance. With the development of highway transportation, the functional requirements for pavement materials has been higher and higher, and the stone-aggregate asphalt mix can no longer meet the requirement of special conditions.Based on the full understanding of the correlation study both home and abroad, this paper proposed the design method for wood-aggregate mix. The chemical treatment of wood-aggregate, material composition, road performance evaluation, road performance evaluation improvement and construction technique of wood-aggregate mix have been studied systematically in this paper.The results show:By CBR test and step-filling method, best inter-locked state of wood-aggregate can be reached; Using chemical treatment, many properties of wood-aggregate could be improved significantly, including mechanical strength, size stability, flame retardant, corrosion resistance and surface-active; Using road performance test under low temperature, failure strain mix is great, which shows low-temperature properties of wood-aggregate.Laboratory tests also shows:the best specimen shaping method is static pressure with steady pressure, which could provide better volume index and pavement properties. So it is better using static pressure rolling with low rolling speed in field construction.
