In recently years, wind-induced vibration problems of bridge structure is very prominent because the modern bridge span increased constantly, and the structure becomed more and more flexible. Wind-induced vibration include flutter, buffet, gallop and vortex. Flutter is a kind of divergent self-excited vibration. Once the vibration happened, it will result in the serious destruction of the structure. Therefor, it's necessary to increase critical flutter velocity through a various of measures so as to inhibit flutter. This paper mainly studied the effect of flutter stability by setting edge tuyere mesure which is belong to passive aerodynamic measures. In this paper, the first chapter mainly introduced the role of the wind on bridges and reviewed the profiles and control measures of bridge flutter. The second chapter mainly introduced the basic theories of bridge flutter and the recognition methods of flutter derivatives of sectional model testing. The third chapter studied the impaction of four different tuyere on flutter derivatives and flutter critical wind speed firstly, then studied the impaction of another four different tuyere on flutter critical wind speed based on aerodynamic shape design research of Great Belt East Bridge main girder section. In the forth chapter, based on the second and third chapter, taking Humen Bridge(Nizhou Waterway Bridge)as engineering background, the effect on flutter derivatives and flutter critical wind speed of three different sectional edge tuyere was contradistinctively studied, and then the optimal solutions of flutter stability was got. The effect of three parameters including tuyere shape angle, length and windward angle on flutter stability rules was also analysized and summarized.
