According to the actual application, this article works deep in the research of painting process of fuel combination and the physicochemical properties, when it is mixed up by DME 20% and diesel 80%, this work has good application value of understanding the principle of combustion and atomization process. Improve engine combustion of dimethyl ether performance has important theoretical significance and very good use value.Therefore, this study built a set of fixed let play testing system, including oil supply system imaging optical path, injection control system and back pressure control system in constant volume bomb, etc, so as to research in dimethyl ether fuel spray characteristics.Based on Matlab image processing, we developed specialized software of spray image processing. the effects of nozzle diameter, opening pressure, surrounding pressure and the speeds of oil pump on spray character based on the system of constant volume chamber.The results show that, with the increase of nozzle diameter and keeping the other parameters constant, spray angle increase and penetration reduce, and the downward trend is not evident. Both of spray angle and penetration increased with the increasing of pump's rotate speed.When the other parameters are fixed, spray angle has increasing current with increase of surrounding pressure, because the resistance of oil bunch downside increased with the increase of surrounding pressure. At the same time the penetration reduced due to reduction of oil bunch kinetic energy. And the change of spray angle is not obvious when surrounding pressure grows to a certain degree.Under the same conditions, by analysing spray angle and penetration between D20 fuel and pure diesel, we got the spray angle of D20 is obviously bigger than pure diesel, almost twice for pure diesel fuel, and it also explains the stickiness D20 is more little than pure diesel, which cause oil beam in downlink process becomes larger on transverse, however, penetration is smaller.
