Geopolymer material is a new type of cementitious material that receives great attention in China and abroad architectural engineering and environment engineering field in recent years. Its raw materials is mainly with industrial waste, with cheap price,abundant reserves, simple preparation process, low energy consumption,it also can effectively reduce emissions of CO2 and has tremendous environmental protection benefit.So it is a kind of new green energy-saving building materials with extensive development prospects.This paper reviews the research situation of geopolymer materials scholars, and simply explains the development situation of geopolymer materials performance. By using fly ash, slag and alkaline stimulate agent,we prepare geopolymer concrete, and research the basic mechanical properties (including the compressive strength, flexural strength, toughness properties) of the ordinary Geopolymer Concrete and High-strength Geopolymer Concrete, comparing with the common concrete (Concrete and High-strength Concrete) at the compressive strength level. Finally, this paper briefly explains the destructive characteristic and mechanism, and draw the following results:Through the compressive strength test of 12 groups cube specimens, we obtaine the geopolymer concrete's early compressive strength is higher than that of normal. The 3 days compressive strength of GC specimen is 41.6% higher than that of C specimen. the 3 days compressive strength of HGC specimen is 5.3% higher than that of HC specimen. But the later compressive strength is the same of common concret.Through the dry-wet circulation test of 8 groups cube specimens, we get the reduction of the compressive strength of geopolymer concrete after dry-wet circulation is less than that of common concrete. The lower rate of HGC and GC specimen respectively is 7.4% and 8.0%, while that of C and HC specimen respectively is 12.8% and 12.0%.Through the flexural strength tests of 4 groups cube specimens, we get the geopolymer concrete flexural strength is lower than ordinary concrete. The GC specimen flexural strength is 19.55% lower than that of C specimen, while the HGC specimen flexural strength is 29.69% lower than that of HC specimen.Through the load-deflection curves we obtained, we get geopolymer concrete compressive strength level is inferior to that of ordinary common concrete. The GC specimen toughness index is 29.85% lower than that of C specimen, while the HGC specimen toughness index is 31.30% lower than that of HC specimen.Through the failure characteristics and mechanism analysis of geopolymer concret specimens, we concluded that the compressive damage form is superior than ordinary concrete, flexural damage form is similar. It's sol ratio, slag and fly ash, maintenance condition and parameters of the internal microstructure will affect its compressive strength, flexural strength and flexural toughness.
